Who doesn’t love a backyard BBQ?

Good friends, good food and the great outdoors. Put them together and you have all the makings of an awesome time.

Whether you are hosting and preparing food at home or you are bringing a side dish with you, it is important to have a good variety of sides to choose from. There are the solid standbys like baked beans and pasta salads that are always a hit. But, for your next BBQ, why not try something different, that still has the same great taste and feel of one of these go-to’s?

We found a couple BBQ side dishes that would be perfect with Randall Beans that you can use at your next backyard get-together.

BBQ Ranch Pasta Salad

You may have to try and fit a workout in after you enjoy this first dish, but it will definitely be worth it! We got this hearty, creamy, sweet and crunchy BBQ pasta salad from Christin at Spicy Southern Kitchen. Instead of a vinegarette or Italian dressing, this pasta salad uses a sweet honey BBQ ranch dressing to give it a creamier texture. If you can’t find the particular dressing it calls for, just mix together classic ranch and honey BBQ for a similar result. Don’t forget to mix in some Randall Beans black beans, peppers, onion, corn, chicken and cheese for a variety of extra flavors. Then, just before serving, top it off with corn chips to give it a crunch. Oh so good!

Chickpea Pesto Salad

Jenn at Mother Thyme put together this very simple chickpea pesto salad recipe that is extraordinarily good! Made up of only 5 ingredients, this is a terrific recipe for those in need of a last minute recipe. Pesto (oh my goodness, who doesn’t love pesto?) and feta cheese are perfect compliments to Randall Beans garbanzo beans in this dish. The creamy texture and nutty flavor of the beans help cut through these strong flavors. For a little extra flavor and texture, you can add pine nuts to the mix.

Cornbread Salad

This recipe from Relish is another awesome easy-make recipe for large groups. Layer after layer of crumbly cornbread, Randall Beans pinto beans, corn, peppers, onion, tomato, cheese, bacon and dressing is sure to be a crowd-pleaser. Baking the cornbread is the longest part of putting this dish together, but even that won’t require much time. This is also a great recipe to stray from the path on. While you are making it, if something comes to mind that would be a good addition you can certainly add it. It is very easy to make this dish your own!
