Who doesn’t love a big old ham? Baked ham is one of those dinners that always provides an abundance of leftovers. That’s the good news. The bad news is that there are only so many ham sandwiches you can eat. Put leftover ham to good use by pairing it with beans. Ham and beans make a flavorful and filling meal. Here is a small sampling of recipes that utilize the classic combination of ham and beans:

Tuscan White Bean Soup with Ham and Kale

This is ham and beans Italian style. A fresh and healthy soup with a flavor that tastes more complex than it actually is, this ham and bean soup can be easily prepared with ingredients you already have in your pantry.

A very easy and impressive looking ham and beans dish, this salad can easily be a main course with the addition of some bread or a fluffy green salad. If fresh cilantro or mint are not handy, you can substitute the dried varieties. If you have time, this salad tastes even better if it spends an extra day in the fridge.

Zesty Ham and Pinto Bean Soup
