Last month we shared some of our favorite Mother’s Day recipes to make for the most important mother in your life. But, don’t think we forgot about all the dads out there!
Dads put in a lot of hard work and deserve just as special of a day as mothers receive when Father’s Day comes around. But when it comes to preparing a special meal for fathers and husbands, you may not need to focus on recipes that will thrill and excite. Dads just want good food!
Whether you are just trying to express your love to the father in your life or you are trying to find a recipe he will love that the kids may be able to come help in the kitchen with, keep this year’s Father’s Day recipes simple and delicious.
We collected some of our favorite bean recipes that we hope will help you put together a fantastic Father’s Day meal for your special man.
Bacon & BBQ Baked Beans
What guy wouldn’t want a recipe with heaps of beans and bacon for Father’s Day? Beans and bacon is a match made in heaven, and this recipe that was sent in by Randall Beans fan Lorraine said it was by her husband, a true Texan and father! They made it with our Randall mixed beans, but this recipe would be great using our great northern beans, pinto beans, or kidney beans. This is the perfect Father’s Day side dish to serve alongside some baked chicken or pork.
Black Bean Chorizo Chili
A hearty pot of chili for Father’s Day? Yes please! While any dad will likely be thrilled to enjoy some tasty chili on Father’s Day, this recipe tops our list of dad-approved chili recipes. This recipe switches it up by using our hearty Randall black beans and smoky, spicy, and flavorful chorizo as a departure from normal kidney beans and beef. What you end up with is a chili recipe that is equal parts hearty, sweet, smoky, and spicy. Toss all the ingredients in a crock pot before you leave for the day, set it to low, and when you get home all the Father’s Day cooking will be done for you.
Mexican Style Steak with Salsa Verde & Refried Beans
On the list of meals a dad might want for Father’s Day, a juicy steak is probably right at the top. Well, why not give dad what he’s craving while trying something a little different than the usual steak and potatoes meal. Try serving up this Mexican style steak that goes perfect with our homemade salsa verde and refried beans using Randall pinto beans. Marinating the steak in advance helps it absorb some incredible flavors and spices that get turned up to 11 when you dish up a little spicy salsa verde on top, but perfectly balanced by the beans. Serve this up with some rice for with some fluffy flour tortillas for some homestyle Father’s Day fajitas.
Blackened Salmon with Mango Black Bean Relish
Blackening with Cajun spices is a great way to help unlock and enhance some of the subtle flavors in seafood, especially salmon. If the father of your life is a fan of seafood, try making his day by cooking up this incredible vibrant and flavorful Cajun salmon dish that, despite how it may look, is actually very easy to make. The secret weapon in this dish is the mango and black bean relish. It is as simple as slicing and dicing up the ingredients to mix together, but the combination of ingredients and the way it perfectly balances with the spice from the fish makes it a Father’s Day recipe he won’t soon forget.
We hope you and your family have a fun-filled Father’s Day and hope our beans can help become a part of a delicious and unforgettable meal. Let us know what you made for Father’s Day this year using Randall Beans. Who know, we may even show off your work!
